BVN Band Notes – Summer 2024 Edition
Greetings, Mustangs!
And welcome to our NEW electronic newsletter, BVN BAND NOTES!
I hope everyone’s summer continues to be enjoyable and relaxing. Our Marching Mustang Mini-Camps were productive and many small groups have been working over the summer to prepare for a great marching season. Whether you will be participating in the Marching Mustangs, Concert Band, Jazz Band, etc. this email is to pass long some updated calendar information and a ‘check-list’ of things to prepare for the upcoming year. Everyone is important to our success, including parents, so we appreciate everyone who can jump in and help out with easy tasks throughout the year. Our two main goals this year include creating a stronger holistic band family environment from 6th Grade through 12th Grade and work harder earlier so we can enjoy the fruits of our efforts for a longer period of time.

On behalf of the entire Mustang Band Booster Board, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families as we embark on an exciting new year.
Your support is crucial to our band’s success, and we’re thrilled to have you with us! Here are a few ways you can get involved:
- Attend Booster Club Meetings: Join us on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.
- Volunteer: Whether it’s helping at a fundraiser, chaperoning trips, or assisting with uniform fittings, your time and effort make a significant difference.
- Fundraising: Support our fundraising activities. These funds go directly towards enhancing the band program.
- Stay Connected: Follow us on social media and read the BVN Band Notes for the latest updates.
Our first MBB meeting of the year is on August 15 at 6:30pm (location TBD). We encourage all parents to attend as we will discuss our goals for the year, upcoming events, and ways you can get involved.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the BVN Band. Together, we can create an outstanding environment for our students to thrive and succeed.

We use BoosterHub to email band updates and information relevant to band activities. All band students and at least one parent should have received a BoosterHub invite. Please check your emails and spam folders.

DUES – ONLINE PAYMENTS

All band students must select one of the two options here.
If you are participating in the Marching Mustangs, select ‘Marching Mustangs’ dues. For all other ensembles (Freshman Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, etc.) select ‘Freshman, Concert, Jazz’ dues. If you are enrolled in multiple band classes, pay only one set of dues.
Payments are due by Uniform Checkout Day for Marching Mustangs or the 2nd Friday of school for all others.
If you would like to pay by cash or check, please choose the ‘Pay Later’ feature and make checks payable to “BVN Band.” You will start receiving reminders to pay sooner than the deadline, due to the way the system is designed.
ADDITIONAL DUES or ITEMS FOR PURCHASE – GO BACK TO STORE AND ADD TO YOUR CART
Percussion Dues: All Percussionists – helps fund sticks, mallets, drumheads and percussion instructor position
Marching Shoes: ALL first-year marchers + any returning members who need new shoes. (Color Guard excluded)
Marching Gloves: ALL first-year marchers + any returning members who need new gloves. (Percussion & Color Guard excluded)
OPTIONAL Band ¼ Zip: For returning members choose this only if you need to replace your Band ¼ Zip. Please indicate size. 1st year Members DO NOT choose this – you will receive one.
OPTIONAL Donation: For Everyone! Over $10,000 of our Band Budget is Fundraised. If we receive enough donations to cancel fundraisers, then we will do so!
BV DISTRICT FORMS

All Band Students must complete the Transportation Form, Health Form, and Media Form.
All Marching Mustangs must complete a PHYSICAL, due to the Main BV office by August 12th.
