The BVN Jazz Ensemble is open to all students!
The BVN Jazz Ensemble is a growing and exciting ensemble which meets during 3rd hour as a regular class during the school day. Students will have the opportunity to study big band and combo jazz performance as well as some history, theory, and improvisation. Jazz is a truly American art form which was completely developed in the United States. It has a rich aural history which students will explore through listening activities. This will give students a model for their own stylistic performance and improvisation.
Jazz Ensemble performs for different community events, school festivals, concerts, and is also the featured performing group at the Pancake Supper held annually in February. The BVN Jazz Ensemble also performs at regional and state jazz festivals in the Kansas City area.
