Thanks for understanding a slightly later than normal update, as I confirmed several details for our MAB performance week while at school Monday.
It's a BIG week – Honor Band Registrations and MAB Performance this week! Thanks for reading carefully and keeping up. (strange… first time I've written “it's a BIG week in 7 months…. feels… almost… normal!)

Band Update

From the Director
Dear BVN Band Family,
One week of Hybrid down, and it has been wonderful to make music together again! Masks, Bell Covers with filters, Distancing, Rehearsal Rotations, Zoom-music…. it's a lot to handle, and the students have been FANTASTIC – THANK YOU STUDENTS! I'm excited to see our musical growth and progress as we get accustomed to our new normal.
Also – Thank you MAB Members! You've come a long way in just a few rehearsals, and are set for an enjoyable performance on Friday!
We really are up and moving again… and with activity comes several important details to share.
Honor Bands: This is an important week – Quick Action Needed!

All Band Students who wish to audition for the ECKMEA Honor Band and/or Jazz Band, please complete THIS FORM by Tuesday 10/13 at 3:00 PM. This audition is open to all band students and is the first step towards earning all-state status. If you miss the Tuesday deadline, you can still register, but registration cost goes up. Read the form for details.

9th Graders who wish to audition for the Kansas Sousa Band, please refer to the Canvas announcement sent out Monday Morning by Mr. Wagoner. Audition recordings need to be submitted this week!
MAB MEMBERS – It's Performance Week!

Thanks for a nice rehearsal Monday evening! Final rehearsal Wednesday, 6:30 – 8:30 PM AT BVN (Please note the location change!)

FRIDAY 10/16 PERFORMANCE DETAILS – CONFIRMED!
-
4:30 – 5:30: Rehearsal at the DAC (FB stadium at 135th and Switzer, just south of BVNW). Please make plans to be ON THE FIELD, ready to go by 4:30 (not parking).

5:30 – 6:15: Dinner (provided)

6:15: prepare to perform

6:45: Pre-game Performance by the MAB!

7 PM: Game Kicks off. We will perform in the stands during the game

7:50 PM, estimate Halftime – Senior Night for the Band! Senior members of the MAB – please complete this form by Tuesday if you have not already done so.

9:30 PM, estimated end of game.

UNIFORM for the evening will be Jeans and Tennis shoes with this year's Blue Band T-shirt underneath the BVN Band 1/4 zip! The 1/4 zips will be delivered/distributed on Wednesday.

Parents/Family members: Please complete THIS FORM if you wish to attend. Family members who reside with your performing student can attend, as well as grandparents.

FOR EVERYONE: Reminder of our Band Class Structure that we started last Friday:

1st and 2nd hours are divided into Wagoner Bands (Salty and Pumpkin) and Freeman Bands (Spicy and Caramel). CLICK HERE for the rosters. At-home students make sure to zoom into the right band!

3rd hour students – all go to Freeman's Zoom

6th hour Virtual Band – see you on the Zoom-Zoom!

4th hour Virtual Jazz (a couple of you) – see you in Mr. Wagoner's Zoom-Zoom

6th Hour In-Person Jazz – it will be great to hear you through the wall as I teach the v-band! at-homers make sure to hop in Mr. Wagoner's zoom!

BAND DUES and BAND FORMS! Time to submit!!
Band Dues are $200 for all band members. Submission instructions are in the Band Forms Packet (linked below), with many more details available on the e-version of the Student info/Dues Form.
BAND FORMS: We will collect our standard packet of participation forms for band. CLICK HERE for the complete forms packet. The cover page includes instructions for all forms.

The Student info/dues form can be completed in hard copy or by clicking here.

The Health, Media, Transportation, and Substance Abuse forms must be completed in hard copy.

The Parent info form can be completed in hard copy, but we HIGHLY recommend you complete it electronically. Open the forms packet for instructions.
