Hello BVN Band!
If you want to audition for the East Central KMEA Honor Band and/or Jazz Band, Please complete THIS FORM by 3:00 PM on Tuesday, 10/13.
Auditioning for the ECKMEA Honor Bands is HIGHLY Recommended. Any student who is completing the Wind Ensemble WoodShed grid will record the complete ECKMEA audition as part of level 6 of the grid – so, anyone who wants to audition for our BVN Wind Ensemble should be registering! (Many of our sister schools require this for their top ensemble musicians).
Making the ECKMEA honor band is a BIG honor. Any student who makes the group is then eligible to audition for All-State. Earning All-State status is the highest honor given to indvidual student musicians in the state of Kansas. In a normal year, students who make the ECKMEA groups will then rehearse and perform in early December. Due to covid, those performances are cancelled. However, the All-State Band WILL be happening this year, in a virtual format. More info coming in future months.
Details about the audition process are included on the form. Please be aware that you can audition on multiple instruments (most common examples are auditioning for both band and jazz, flutes also auditioning for piccolo, percussionists auditioning on any combination of snare/bass/timpani).
